Mobile World Congress
MWC was organized between February 22 – 25, and we have seen the latest Flagship phones from Samsung, Sony, LG and Xiaomi.
Samsung Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge were introduced
Samsung decided to introduce its flagship phones earlier this year, so they have introduced new Galaxy S7 and S7 edge on last Sunday.
This time, there is a size difference between S7 and S7 edge. While S7 is using 5,1 QHD AMOLED Display, its brother has bigger 5,5 inch Curved QHD AMOLED Display. In this case, bigger size means bigger battery: S7 has 3000 mAh battery, and S7 edge has 3,600 mAh Battery. Samsung’s new flagship phones are powered by SnapDragon 820 or Exynos 8890 processor. As normal, they are using 4 GB of ram, and 32 GB of main storage, but now they come with a Micro SD support. The other interesting thing about new S series is that they are waterproof.
LG introduced G5
LG G5 came in the same day with S7, and this time LG made radical changes on G5. For example, it has a removable battery which can be removed from the bottom of the phone by removing the bottom part. Besides of removing the battery, the removable bottom part allows user to use different accessories. Also, now the volume buttons are on the left side, while the power button is still on the back.
In the matter of specs, LG G5 has a 5.3 inch display with the resolution of 1440 x 2560 ( 554 ppi ). It is powered by SnapDragon 820, and has 4 GB of ram. Even though it is bigger than the regular S7, it has a smaller battery with the capacity of 2600 mAh.
Xiaomi Mi 5
Xiaomi introduced its flagship phone in this week. Xiaomi Mi 5 is like any other flagship phones that were introduced in MWC, but comes with a cheaper price tag.
Like S7 or G5, it is powered by SnapDragon 820 with either 3 or 4 GB of ram ( depends on the model ). It has a 5,15 inch Full HD display.
Sony Xperia X, XA and X Performance
Sony surprised us by introducing a new series named X: the series that will replace the Z Series.
Even though Xperia X and X Performance have 5 inch Full HD display, XA has a 5.0 inch with the resolution of 720 x 1080 pixels. Xperia X uses SnapDragon 650, X Performance uses SnapDragon 820, and XA has Mediatek Helio P10. While X and X Performance have 3 GB of ram, XA has 2 GB of ram.
Apple will launch 9.7 inch iPad Pro instead of Air 3
It was expected from Apple to introduce Air 3 last September, but they did not. Later, the rumors were saying that Apple would introduce Air 3 in March. The rumor was kinda true. Apple will introduce an iPad in March, but it will not be Air 3. It will be a smaller iPad Pro ( 9.7 inch ) with the support of Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil.
