Google will close Picasa, Finally

Picasa was a service created by Google in 2002. It was an image organizer.

Now, it has been about 14 years and the percentage of users who were using Picasa was decreased greatly. Actually, it can be said that even Google forget the Picasa.

Since Google is well known for closing its services, Google, or with its new name, Alphabet, is killing the Picasa.

However, that does not mean that you will not be able to see your photos in Picasa. Users will not be able to edit their photos from 1 May 2016, but will be able to see their images. From 15 March 2016, there will be no updates for its desktop version.
