We already saw the Xiaomi Mi 5 in leaked photos, and knew its hardware from benchmarks. And now, the presentation ( in Chinese ) gives us the details about its hardware. After spending some time to trying to translate the presentation, we finally successfully translated it.
According to the presentation, Xiaomi Mi5 will have 3GB or 4GB ram ( depends on the main storage ), and will be powered by SnapDragon 820.
We translated and explained each slide, so here you go.
It is not required you to know Chinese to understand this presentation. It says 32 GB version will use 3 GB of ram, while 64 GB is using 4GB of ram.
In the second slide, it indicates that it will use IR with NFC. The third one says, “Edge Touch” according to Google Translate. It may be the feature that allows you to control the phone by drawing gestures on its edges.
We were unable to translate this one using Google Translate, but it is obvious that it is something about NFC.
This is about the screen. It says Mi5 will use 5.2 inch 1080P Sharp/LG screen with ultra narrow frames.
This shows the thickness of the phone compared to other phones. It says Mi 5 is only 6.35 mm thick, which is 0.75 mm thinner than iPhone 6s.
It was known that Mi5 would use SnapDragon 820, but the presentation proves the rumor. Mi 5 will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest 64-bit SnapDragon 820 which has a clock speed of 2.2 GHZ.
Lastly, Xiaomi Mi 5 will have 26MP main camera with the aperture size of F1.6. It is actually really good in the matter of aperture since LG G4 have a camera with F1.9. On the other hand, similarly with other flagship phones, it will come with laser autofocus with the 0.05s focus speed.
