Apple stopped giving 9.3 to older devices

Apple stopped giving 9.3 to older devices

Just after the Apple’s March Event, they started to give iOS 9.3 with new features and bug fixes. However, it literally bricked iPad 2’s.

In order to prevent any other problems with the update, Apple stopped giving the latest version of iOS, v9.3, to older devices inducing iPhones and iPads. The word “older” includes even two – three year old devices. These devices are all iPhones older than iPhone 5S ( and the 5S itself ). And in the matter of iPads, the update will not be given to first Air and other older iPads. It can be understood why Apple stopped to giving this update to 4S or iPad 2, but it is not clear why they stopped to giving to the first Air.
