S5 was one the first Samsung phones having a fingerprint sensor, but in that day Android was not officially supporting the fingerprint sensor, so that companies needed to adapt their fingerprint sensor to their Rom. However, Google started to support the fingerprint sensor with the Marshmallow update.

CyanogenMod is one of the most popular ROMs today, and it has a vide range of supports. With the new nighties that CyanogenMod has published, it is official support the Samsung Galaxy S5’s fingerprint.
