HTC reported record low revenue in February
HTC was doing great in several years ago, but later they became less powerful. However, with the introduction of M7 and M8, they started to do better until the introduction of M9 and A9 which were disappointments. The February report shows the record low revenue.
It is not a secret that HTC is not doing well since they made a lot of mistakes with both M9 and A9, although they are in the right track with Vive VR.
According to the report, HTC gained $128 million in 2016 February ( NT$4.2 billion ) which was $261 million in the February of 2015 ( NT$9.2 billion ). It means their revenue for the February cannot even reach to the half of the last year’s. Moreover, their revenue is 35% lower than the January.
As I said earlier, they are doing really bad, and they need something to recover them. In this case, HTC Vive VR would obviously help them because they actually did a great job with it. It is considered as the best VR product in the market. However, HTC’s main focus was not the VR products, but phones. Even though it seems that they will make a lot of change with HTC 10 ( even its name is different ), still HTC 10 does not sound like it will solve the problem.
