Apple iPad Pro 9.7 – Review
Apple didn’t release the iPad Air 3 this year, but introduced another iPad Pro, instead. And, here is our review.
Well, in the matter of design, it is basically an improved Air 2. It means, it has the typical iPad design, but it also has elements from both iPad Pro’s and iPhone 6S’ design. For example, it has the same 4 speakers that you can see on the bigger iPad Pro, but also has the same camera hump that you can see on the iPhone 6S.
To start with, it features a 9.7-inch screen which is smaller than 12.9-inch iPad Pro, but same with Air series. Like all the Apple products with retina display, it has a gorgeous display. It is bright. It has a lively colors, but now it comes with a feature called True-Tone. It basically adjusts the brightness and color temperate of the screen according to the environment. That means if you are using your device in the night, the screen will adjust itself to help you sleep easily.
This is what makes it an “iPad Pro”. Like its big brother, it has the latest Apple A9X processor, but with 2GB RAM. Even though the RAM does not really matter with Apple products, there was a 4GB of RAM in the bigger iPad Pro. Normally, I wouldn’t have a problem with 2GB RAM on an iPad, but since it is entitled as a “Pro”, I would expect to see all of the pro features in iPad Pro 9.7. However, it is still unbelievably fast and allows you to use any app without any lag.
Normally, I wouldn’t be talking about iPad’s camera, but this time, I will. Before describing the camera, I’ll just ask a question. Do you know how good is iPhone 6S’ camera? It is amazing. Now, you can say why you are talking about iPhone 6S in an iPad review. It is because the new iPad Pro has the same camera with iPhone 6S. That means it has the same gorgeous 12MP camera that is able to take 4K videos. It is fast and the results are awesome. However, like the iPhone 6S, it has a camera hump. That is not something that I like.
I loved the iPad Pro 12.9 because of its performance and features. However, since I am not a fan of big tablets and a current user of the latest 13-inch MacBook Pro, it was pointless for me to buy it. In this case, iPad Pro 9.7 is great, but here is the problem. Its price is higher than the starting price of Air 2. Even though normal iPad series were not very cheap compared other tablets, the new iPad Pro is clearly more expensive than the previous iPads. To sum up, if you need a powerful device, then it is the perfect choice, but if you just want an iPad, it is a little big expensive.
