Evernote – Review

Evernote – Review

Most of the people take digital notes, and there are a lot of applications out there. However, Evernote is considered as the best note taking app, but why?

To start with, Evernote was released on 24 June 2008 in open beta. In June 2011, it reached to 11 million users. As you can understand from this stat, it is a successful application because of few reasons.

First, you can find Evernote on nearly every platform. There is an Android, iOS, BlackBerry, Windows Phone, Windows, Chrome OS, Mac OS, and even WebOS application for Evernote. Moreover, you can also use Evernote on the web. To sum up, you can access and edit your notes from all platform. That is one of the main reasons why Evernote is so popular because Evernote’s competitors are not available in most of these platforms. Come on, it is even available in WebOS which is the operating system used in the some of the latest LG smart televisions.

Second, there are so many features. Besides of having an ability to create Notebooks, tags and categories, there are also some features that you will not see in other note apps. For example, you can create tables. Okay, maybe not everybody is interested in creating tables, but it is useful for some people like me. Other than that, you can create to-do lists, add photos, voice clips and even add a reminder for your notes. Even though most of these features will not be used by normal users, these can be useful if you are using Evernote in your company.

First of all, you can use Evernote without spending a penny, but if you need more advanced features such as the ability to present your notes or basically need more space, then you can buy the plus or premium options. With plus, you can access to your notes even whey you are offline, and you can also add locks on your mobile notes. Besides, 60 megabytes limits increases to 1GB. Premium has all the features of free and plus options, but also allows you to do more with PDFs and increases the file limit to 10GB.

As a person who have tried both the free version and the paid option, I can say that if you are a normal user and do not expect so much from the app, then even the free version is good. However, if you want to use Evernote in your company, then go with the paid options.

In the past, I had tried to use a lot of note apps, but I think Evernote is the best one, especially if you are using for business purposes. Even if you just take normal notes, it is just great because it allows you to access your notes from different platforms, and there are a lot of features. That is why Evernote is the best note-taking app in the market.

  • It is free, although there are few paid options
  • You can access your notes from a lot of platforms
  • There are a lot of tools to customize your notes
  • You can share your notes easily

  • There could be an option to import notes from other platforms.
