How to move your songs from Spotify to Apple Music

Apple Music was the reason why some of the users stopped using Spotify. As they transferred to Apple Music, their music stayed on Spotify. If you are one of those users, then here is the tutorial for how to transfer your music from Spotify to Apple Music.

First of all, without using third-party apps, there is no way to move your songs. Even though there are few alternatives, MoveToAppleMusic is the best one ( at least in my opinion )

1. Download the App

First thing you need to do is to download the MoveToAppleMusic from this link. By the way, this app is only available for Mac. It is not a free app if you want to move more than 15 songs. If you have only 15 songs in your Spotify library or simply do not want to spend money, you can use the free version. However, if you are willing to spend some money to transfer all your songs and playlists, then you need to buy the full version which costs $7.99. You can download the free version from here ( Please note that when you click on the link, the download will automatically start ), and the full version from here.

2. Select Spotify

When you open the app, you will be asked to select either Spotify or Rdio. As Rdio is dead and this tutorial is about Spotify, choose the Spotify.

3. Log Into Your Spotify Account / Authorize the App

Third step is to log into your Spotify account. After logging, you will be asked to authorize the MoveToAppleMusic app.

4. Select Which Playlists Do You Want to Move

After the third step, the app will display your playlists, and you will need to choose which Spotify PlayLists do you want to move to Apple Music.

5. Open iTunes

Here is the problem with the app. You cannot just log into your Apple Music account. The thing that you need to do is to open the iTunes or close it and then reopen it if it is already running.

6. Go Back to the App

After opening the iTunes, just go back to the app, and click on the big green button that says “Capture Session”. Then, you need to return to iTunes and like any song in your Apple Music library. After this step, one or more pop-ups will show up. Just confirm these pop-ups.

7. Just Wait for a Couple of Minutes … or Few Hours

After the sixth step, MoveToAppleMusic will start importing your playlists from Spotify to Apple music. This is the step in which you will have to wait. Normally transferring maximum 15 songs takes about 2-3 minutes, but if you have like 1000 songs, then it will be better if you do something creative in that time instead of just watching the progress bar for few hours. By the way, the progress will be shown within the app.

8. Reopen the iTunes

Again, just close the iTunes and then reopen it. You should see your all songs in the iTunes. By the way, the songs that are not available in Apple Music will be grayed out. If you do not want to see them, you can just simply delete them.
