What is new in Google Translate v5.0?
Google just released the fifth version of Google Translate for Android and iOS with new features.
One of the biggest changes is the design itself. Now, there is a hamburger menu where you can access to the settings that were once only accessible via the three dots.
Translate in Any App
Now, you can translate any text within any app. All you need to do is to copy the text that you want to translate, and then Google Translate will appear on your display via a floating button that is similar to FaceBook Messenger’s chat heads.
Chinese Translation via Word Lens
Word lens is a technology that allows you to translate texts in real life using the camera of your device. It wasn’t available with Chinese until now.
Offline Languages for iOS
You could use offline translation with Google Translate on Android devices but it wasn’t available on iOS. However, with the new update, you can download languages to your iOS devices so that you can make translations without an internet connection.
