VP of Google VR, ” wait few months to get a daydream phone”
DayDream is a platform aimed to make the VR experience better for the Android phone. However, that requires power and optimization. That was the reason why Google announced the name “VR Ready” which is like the tag VR Ready computers. Even though there is currently only one phone that supports Daydream, VP of Google VR, Clay Bayvor, said that users should wait for a few months to get a daydream phone.
We can understand two things from this sentence. First, it means that DayDream is here so we will not wait for few years to see the DayDream and second, most of the upcoming phones and even all of the upcoming flagship phones will support the DayDream.
You can read what did he say below.
I can tell you that there will most likely not be any ‘retroactively’ Daydream-ready phones. We want to hold a very high quality bar, and for that to happen all the components need to be just right. So, to VR fans, I would say, hold off for a few months to get your next phone and get a Daydream-ready phone.
