Xiaomi MIUI 8 is introduced
With the introduction of Xiaomi Mi Max, Xiaomi also showed the latest version of MIUI 8. The most obvious change is the new user interface.
UI has updated with a new modern look that kinda looks like Google’s Material Design. Now, the UI is even more colorful.
Xiaomi’s Own Font
With the MIUI 8, Xiaomi introduced their new font. It includes 27533 characters and available for multiple languages including Chinese and English.
This feature changes the wallpaper of your lock screen daily. Right now, there are 12 image categories, but more categories and images will come in the near future.
The new gallery comes with a redesigned UI and has new features including new filters, new stickers as well as a new motion which allows you to share images by swiping up.
Similar to the gallery app, “notes” app also changed. The new version allows you to share templates, protect your notes by fingerprint and view the notes in the grid view. However, the biggest change in the notes app is the design.
Calculator app is also updated. Now, there are new options such as conversions and advanced calculations. Conversions allow you to see the exchange values for currencies.
It is one of the new apps coming with MIUI 8. Even though I believe, most of us do not use any scanner app to scan Barcodes codes, if you need one, then you will not need to download a scanner from Google Play.
Xiaomi improved the app switcher with the MIUI 8. It is actually the standard app switcher from the Android Lollipop and Marshmellow. However, there are few new options which make it easier to use the multi-tasking feature.
