Nvidia introduced GTX1060

This year, AMD followed a different route. They understood that it is pointless for them to compete with Nvidia in the high-end graphic card world. Instead, they announced a mid-range card, RX480, that was even faster than Nvidia GTX970. Furthermore, it only costs $200. However, now, Nvidia has an answer to AMD.

Nvidia GTX1060

First of all, the Nvidia’s purpose with GTX1060 is basically end AMD’s happiness that only lasted for few weeks. Now, not only they have faster cards than AMD, but also a solid answer to RX480.

While AMD RX480’s performance is really close to Nvidia GTX970, the new GTX1060 is like GTX980 for $250. However, it is more power efficient than 980 as it uses 16nm FinFET process.

1060 has 1,280 CUDA cores ( which is only half of GTX 1080) with massive 6GB of GDDR5 memory. There are also five display outputs: HDMI, DVI, and three of DisplayPorts.

Starting from July 19, Nvidia GTX1060 Founders Edition will be available for $299. However, after one or two weeks, the normal cards will reach to markets costing $250.

If you think Prius sucks, Lyft just introduced “premier” rides

Toyota Prius is not the most luxurious and comfortable car and yet it is quite popular in Uber and Lyft because it is cheap to buy it so it is cheap to ride it. However, if you think you deserve to ride in a better car, you can use Lyft’s “premier” cars.Lfyt Premier

Lfyt Premier

Basically, Lyft Premier is like Uber Black. If you are willing to pay more, then you will be taken by more comfortable car. Right now, BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, Lexus ES, and Cadillac Escalade are the only available cars but I hope this list will expand and eventually include cars like Mercedes S-Class or at least BMW 7 series.

Premier is only available in the Bay Area, Los Angeles, and New York City right now. Furthermore, if you are a new user, you can use the code below to get 20% in your first 10 Premier rides.

Avast acquired AVG

Today, Avast, which is well-known for its antivirus program that is being used by over 230 million user, announced that they will acquire their rival, AVG, for $1.3 billion in cash.

Avast + AWG

This deal will allow both companies to expand their markets across the world as deal concerns total of 410 million users ( 250 million of them being Mac or PC users and about 160 million mobile users ).

Also, both of the companies may merge their softwares to make one solid antivirus program. However, they can also choose to have two separate programs for different types of users.

Say goodbye to OnePlus X

OnePlus X was a different option for people who wanted to have sort of high-end features for about $200. However, the device is gone…forever.

First, it is realized that OnePlus X was out of stock even in the company’s official internet store which was not something so surprising at all. However, the real surprise came when OnePlus announced that they had no intention to continue producing OnePlus X. But what if you have just ordered OnePlus X? Then, you will get a refund with a $10 coupon.

However, it is unclear why they stop producing it.

Blackberry classic is officially dead

In the past, Blackberry was all about professional devices with a built-in keyboard. However, times changes and latest trend became touchscreen without having any physical buttons at all. For example, their latest device was Blackberry Priv which has a touchscreen with slide-out keyboard. Nevertheless, Blackberry were producing traditional phone called Classic which is officially dead.

Blackberry Classic was different from the current phones as it kept the traditional Blackberry design: full-size keyboard with trackpad. However, it also supported touch screen.

As you would expect, it was not something that most people wanted and asked for so Blackberry couldn’t sell a lot of Blackberry Classic at all. As a result, they stop producing it.

These are the tenets that help keep us focused and the reasons why we are committed to the success of both BlackBerry 10 and Android devices. To keep innovating and advancing our portfolio, we are updating our smartphone lineup with state of the art devices. As part of this, and after many successful years in the market, we will no longer manufacture BlackBerry Classic. For many years, Classic (and its BBOS predecessors) has been in our portfolio. It has been an incredible workhorse device for customers, exceeding all expectations. But, the Classic has long surpassed the average lifespan for a smartphone in today’s market. We are ready for this change so we can give our customers something better – entrenched in our legacy in security and pedigree in making the most productive smartphones.

However, Blackberry also said that they will continue to support Blackberry 10.

Microsoft may introduce new surface product soon

Few years ago, Microsoft’s vision for Surface was making tablets that could replace your laptop. However, their vision changed with the Surface Book and now, it looks like Microsoft is even trying to widen the Surface products.

First of all, we were expecting to see the new Surface Book this year but according to the leaks, it is delayed to 2017. Because of this reason, Microsoft’s Surface All-in One PC would be in the spotlight this year. Yes, the latest rumors say that they are working on an All-in One PC within the Surface Family. However, it is not clear whether it will be like Asus’ huge tablet that can be used as a desktop PC or it will be an iMac competitor without any 2 in 1 capabilities.

Honestly, it may be a good decision for them to introduce an All-in One PC because it would be fair to say that we need better Windows computers with better engineering. Speaking based on Microsoft’s success with Surface tablets and Surface Book, we might finally see an All-in One Windows PC that can compete with iMac.

Blackberry is working on three new phones

Blackberry was one of the biggest mobile phone producers and every important people used to have a Blackberry phone several years ago. However, after the introduction of iPhone, they couldn’t adapt to the upcoming changes and well, you know their current status but it looks like they didn’t give up on Android.

According to the rumors, Blackberry is working on three Android phones: two of them being mid-range and one of them being a high-end phone.

First phone is called as Blackberry Argon which supposes to come in October. Argon would be the high-end phone with being powered by SnapDragon 820 and 4GB of RAM. You can see its specs below ( credit: TheVerge ) ;
