DTEK50 is Blackberry’s new Android phone
After the high-end Priv, Blackberry chose to introduce low-end phone. The result is newly announced, DTEK50 which only costs $299.
If you don’t count the security features, then there is nothing special with the phone though. It is produced by Alcatel and it has a 5.2-inch QHD screen, Snapdragon 617 and 3GB of RAM. However, the security is the feature that separates it from other phones as well as why it is named as DTEK50.
Phone’s name comes from a software called DTEK that scans possibly threats on your phone and warns you if an app takes pictures or sends a message without a warning. The software is included and Blackberry thinks that this software would be the reason why people will buy the phone. However, in my opinion, Blackberry should have launched something unique like Priv.
