Xiaomi’s new $750 notebook tries to beat MacBook Air

Xiaomi is one of china’s biggest tech companies which not only makes phones but TVs, Tablets and even air purifiers. However, as leaked, they announced a new laptop.

Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air

Xiaomi calls it, Mi Notebook Air, and they try to compete with Apple’s MacBook Air.

It comes in two sizes: 12.5 and 13.3. The bigger one is more expensive as well as more powerful.

Mi Notebook Air 12.5 has an Intel Core M3 processor (so it has an integrated Intel HD graphics) with 128GB SSD. On the other hand, 13.3 one is powered by Intel Core i5-6200U 2.7 GHz processor but unlike the smaller version, the bigger one packs dedicated Nvidia GeForce 940MX and comes with 8GB of RAM.

Having a MacBook Pro-like design, the laptop is, however, thinner than MacBook Air as well as lighter. Both variants have a thickness of 14.8 mm ( compared to MacBook Air’s 17 mm thickness ) . Furthermore, 12.5 variant weights at 1.07kg ( about 2.35 pounds ) and 13.3-inch variant at 1.28kg ( around 2.80 pounds).

Now, comes the price. 12.5 Mi Notebook Air costs 3.499 yuan ( $525 ) and the bigger more powerful version is priced at 4,999 yuan ( $750 ).
