Games & Extensions
- Battlefield 1
Introduced in E3 2016, EA also exhibited upcoming BattleField 1 in Gamescom. Unlike the previous games, BT 1 takes place during World War 1. This means instead of using F16s and mini guns, you will be fighting on horses, in old planes and with guns from WW1.
Even though not everybody will appreciate old guns and vehicles, still the game gets too much attention in game shows.
You can play it on October 21, 2016.
- Titanfall 2
Coming on October 28, Titanfall 2 will support VR even on the consoles. This raises some questions though. Even though Sony already announced PS VR for PS4, there is no Xbox One VR yet.
- Fifa 17
A new sequel of Fifa. Now, it includes more soccer teams, comes with better graphics as well as with improved physics. Fifa 17 will be launched on September 27.
- Madden NFL 17
Without any doubt, Madden is one the best American Football games and it just got better. Most obvious ( and important ) change is that now, you can move more freely in the field thanks to its elevated game mechanics. It’s release date is 23th of August 2016.
- NHL 17
It is yet another sport game from EA. New version of the series is more realistic compared to the previous ones. According to EA, it is more fun as well. We will see if that is true when the game will come at September 13 for the current consoles.
- Star wars
A Rouge One themed VR titled star wars game. Basically, you ride an X-Wing in VR and we hope that it won’t disappoint us like Battlefront.
- Destiny: Rise of Iron DLC
Rise of the Iron DLC is Activision’s yet another attempt to increase the sizes of Destiny’s world. If you want to watch the show, you can follow Activision on Twitch.
Anyway, back to the DLC, it will bring new modes, weapons and armors to Destiny.
- Call of Duty Infinite Warfare
Activision also showed Call of Duty’s newest game, Infinite Warfare, in the show. Furthermore, they announced the zombi mode.
- Metal Gear Survive
New Metal Gear game is a 4-player coup where you try to kill zombies and survive ( as the name itself suggests ) with your friends. Metal Gear Survive will be released on 2017 and it will cost about $33 as it won’t be a “full price game”.
- Microsoft Xbox One S
Although it is not a new hardware, Microsoft had Xbox One S in Gamescom. For the ones who don’t know about Xbox One S, it is the new white Xbox One. It is about 40% smaller and a little bit faster compared to the Xbox One. However, this has no impact on the games yet. Still, it does not support 4K ( at least for the games ).
- Oculus Touch
Oculus announced new touch sensitive controllers for its VR headset, Oculus Rift. It is being supported by Oculus games and will be released at the end of 2016.
- New HP Gaming PCs
HP was also in the gamescom and they extended the Omen series. Until now, there was only one laptop in HP’s gaming line ( which was not really good, by the way ). However, now, Omen series also includes a desktop PC.
HP Omen X is not a cheap desktop though. It costs $1,600 for the base model and $599 price tag makes its chassis, one of the most expensive one. You have a list of graphics cards in Omen X from RX480 to Nvidia 1080.
- No PS4 Neo, Project Scorpio or Nintendo NX
Although there are some consoles and Windows PCs in gamescom, we will not see any of the next generation consoles. While Sony will introduce 4k-ready PS4 Neo as soon as next month, you will have to wait for a year to see the Project Scorpio. By the way, there is no solid news about Nintendo NX.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
Gears of War 4
Metal Gear Survive
Resident Evil 7
South Park: Fractured but Whole
The Crew: Calling All Units
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands
Watch Dogs 2
