Android 7.1 Preview is available on Nexus 6P, 5X and Pixel C

When Google introduced Pixel and Pixel XL, there was a doubt if Google would slow down the update process for the Nexus devices. However, it looks like you have nothing to worry about. Google rolled out the Android 7.1 Preview to the last generation Nexus devices, 6P, 5X and C, at the same time with their new phone, Pixel.

If you have one of the supported devices, you can list your device in the Android Beta Program to test the latest preview.

With the Android 7.1 Preview, Google brings Night Light and the new circular icons to Android. Besides of the optimizations to shorten the touch response, there is also new shortcuts for supported apps when long pressed. However, Pixel phones have some privileges such us the Pixel Launcher, new camera app and  24/7 on-device customer support.

If you want to test the latest software, keep in mind that it is a preview. It means it is possible for you to encounter with minor or major bugs. You can, by the way, check the known issues for the first preview from Google’s support page.
