If the home button on iPhone 7 has a problem, Apple has a workaround

Headphone jack was not the only thing that Apple removed on the iPhone 7. The second thing was the physical home button. After replacing the real touchpads on the Mac with non-moving ones, they did the same thing with the iPhone 7 as well. There is a button, but it is not physical anymore. This means the new button is depending on software to work. And if there is a problem with the software, you cannot actually use the button. However, it looks like Apple already think about it.

With iOS 10, there is a special diagnostic software which senses if there is any problem related to the new button. When the software sees a problem though, you are given with an error message saying the home button can be used for some reasons. And the phone suggests you to use the onscreen one.

This was found by a MacRumors forum member ‘iwayne‘. He said that the error appeared on the screen after he powered the phone back up after plugging in his iPhone 7 to charge.
