You no longer need an expensive PC to use Oculus Rift
One of the biggest problems of the VR is its price. Not only you need to spend hundreds of dollars to a VR headset, but also to a computer that is even more expensive. It looks like Oculus kinda solve the issue. First of all, the VR headsets, including Oculus Rift, are still expensive, but it no longer requires an expensive PC to work.
You can thank softwares for this because VR still requires so much power to run exactly at 90 frames, but Oculus launched two new techniques for computers to deal with this problem. First one is called as Timewarp and it is basically used as a corrective. It adds synthetic frames when your computer misses one. Second one, on the other hand, is called as Spacewarp, which actually helps Oculus Rift to work on cheaper devices as it allows PCs to run at 45 frames per second. Normally, it is not an acceptable number, but Spacewarp adds other 45 frames synthetically. As a result, you get 90 fps.
This way, not only Oculus is able to bring the Rift to the laptops but also, to the cheaper computers with not so powerful hardware.
