Xiaomi Mi MIX is a concept phone with a bezel-less screen that you can buy
Xiaomi is undoubtedly a huge company in China which also sells its products internationally. However, let’s be honest, their phones have always been cheap copies of Samsung and Apple devices. They were affordable but other than that, they had no unique feature. Even though Xiaomi still continues to copy Samsung, their newest device, Mi MIX, is a proof that Xiaomi is capable of doing more than just copying other popular devices.
Xiaomi Mi MIX is definitely a dream for most of us. It is not expensive and yet, it has all the features you can expect from a flagship phone. Costing only ¥3,499 ( $516 ), the phone has a 6.4-inch screen which doesn’t have any borders at all. This way, you are getting a screen-to-body ratio of 91.3 percent making the device only as big as iPhone 7 Plus. Furthermore, as there is no place for any sensors on the top, the camera is moved to the bottom and earpiece is replaced with a piezoelectric speaker, which generates sound by using the metal frame.
Inside the phone, there is SnapDragon 821 with 4GB of RAM and 128 GB of base storage. Supporting two sim cards, Mi MIX is equipped with 192Hz / 24-bit DAC chip for better audio quality. By the way, there is also a more expensive version with 18-karat gold accents around the camera and finger print sensor, 6GB Ram and 256GB main storage which costs ¥3,999 ( $590 ). If you are wondering, the headphone jack is there.
However, the whole point is the display. Designed by Philippe Starck, the phone shows that the bezels are the real reason why most of the phablets are huge. We are talking about a 6.4-inch screen, with which it can even be considered as a tablet. Nevertheless, it is not any bigger than the current phablets.
The best thing is that it will be actually sold. Xiaomi will launch the device in November 4th in China, but we have no word from the company if they are planning to launch the Mi Mix in other countries as well
