OnePlus 3T is all about newer specs
OnePlus 3 was announced about 6 months ago, but the company is killing it, already. They have a new phone, a replacement for OnePlus 3. However, it actually looks same. That is because all the updates are made inside. Think of Apple’s “S” updates, where they protect the design, but upgrade the devices with better and newer specs. It is eventually the same story with OnePlus 3T.
New model is powered by SnapDragon 821, a processor that starts to appear in more flagship phones day by day. However, the 821 found in OnePlus 3T is faster than Google Pixel in terms of clock speed. Besides, 3T uses 6GB of RAM with either 64GB of main storage or 128GB. Even though the amount of RAM is standart in all models, the main storage differs according to the color of the phone. Higher storage is exclusive to the grey one ( called as gunmetal color ), while the gold color can only be chosen by 64GB. Furthermore, the phone packs a bigger battery ( 3,400mAh compared to 3,000mAh ), which provides 13 percent more stamina, according to the company. All of those updates are made in the same body without affecting the thickness of the device. However, they affect the price, which is $40 or $80 ( depending on the main storage ) more than the OnePlus 3. The entry model with 64GB storage will start $439 while the model with more capacity is priced at $479. Both of the models will be available on November 22 in US and November 28 in Europe.
Other changes though, are with the operating system, which is still OnePlus’ Oxygen OS. Even though 3T is not using the Android 7.0 Nougat, there are some changes with the software of 3T. However, keep in mind, both 3 and 3T will be updated at the end of this year.
Nevertheless, announcement of the new phone does not mean OnePlus 3 is completely dead. Despite the fact that the company faced many problems with keeping the OnePlus 3 in the market because of supply and component issues, they do not have any plans to stop selling it, at least so far. The company says that they announced 3T just because they felt that they could do better.
