Spectacles are now in New York
Earlier this year, Snapchat rebranded itself as “Snap Inc.” and they announced Spectacles, a sunglasses with ability to record 10 seconds videos for their social network. We knew it will be limited, but one thing we didn’t know was how would they sell it. Our question, however, was answered when they put a wending machine into a parking slot in California. Now, they have another wending machine in the United States ( in the New York City ), but this time, it is located in their own shop.
Snapchat’s store is located at 5 East 59th Street near the corner of 5th Ave. In other words, it is close to the Central Park as well as the Apple Store. Inside the store though, there is only one vending machine, and the other empty area in the store is used for the snaking like line.
The purchase process is also simple. You choose the color of your Spectacles ( blue, red or black ) by pushing the color button. Then, you make the payment. Spectacles are priced at $129.95, but each costumer can only purchase maximum 2 of them.
After buying them, you need to connect Spectacles to your own Snapchat account via its app on your phone. Then, you can record 10 seconds of video clips by pressing the physical button on the sunglass. You may or may not choose to upload those clips to your story, but in any case, your clips are stored on your phone.
