Twitter might sell Vine

Vine was not a popular social network at all, but it was owned by Twitter until they decided to close it last month. However, frankly speaking, neither Twitter nor Vine was and is doing great.

According to TechCrunch, Twitter is considering several offers for Vine. But the report also says that some of those offers are as low as 10 million dollars. It may sound a lot, but in reality, that is less than the money Twitter is paying monthly to keep the service running.

On the other hand, a potential sale would mean that its relatively huge video library will stay online for a more time. Even though the success of the vine is open to a question, it is still being used by many people.

In other words, the people or the company buying this network would be making a favor for the internet although it is not clear if they would be able to make money from the service.

The service was acquired by Twitter with the hope of making it the default way to share short videos. However, it was never used with his purpose. Instead, it became a service of short humorous and weird clips.

Right now, we don’t have any more information about what will exactly happen to the Vine, although it looks like it will die soon.
