Video: 2017 Mercedes E-Class Coupe
Mercedes just introduced the coupe version of the E Class family, bringing the dynamism to the competition.
Mercedes-Benz said Hello to the 2016 with the E-Class Sedan family that they introduced back in January, and now they are saying “goodbye” to this year with the E-Class Coupe. The 2017 Mercedes E-Class Coupe will debut for the first time under the Detroit Auto Show which will be held in the coming month, with a design that is blended with sporty lines from its the sedan version, which is a heavyweight sedan and shares its infrastructure.
Before design lines, it would be useful to look at the numerical values that makes the E-Class Coupe more comfortable. 2017 Mercedes E-Class Coupe has a length of 4.826 mm, a width of 1.860 mm, a height of 1.430 mm and an axle distance of 2.873 mm. In order to make these values more meaningful we have to make a comparison. The new generation E-Class Coupé is 123 mm longer, 74 mm wider, 32 mm higher and offers 113 mm longer axle distance than the old one. When we look at these values, we can say that in every respect the new generation E-Class Coupe has a larger structure and more luggage capacity with more knee and head distance, especially on the side of the arc. This means that it is a great advantage for a car that is in the coupe building.
The design of the new E-Class Coupe is very similar to that of the sedan version shared by the infrastructure. We can say that the vehicle is behind the biggest difference in characteristics on the outside lines. As with the brand’s SUV model GLC Coupe, the E-Class Coupe, along with discrete LED headlights, will be among the more preferred models in the class as a more “mobile” version of the E series in the heavy air.
As in the Sedan variant, the E-Class Coupe also has a wealth of hardware options. Centrally positioned with Mercedes’ state of art cockpit design, the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto-powered 12.3-inch multimedia display can respond to commands from the control center or via the steering wheel. However, there are plenty of enhancements in the E-Class Coupé, including wireless phone charging, digital car keys (via smartphone), active brake assist, semi-autonomous driving system, remote parking control, ambiance lighting and Multibeam LED technology lighting.
One of the characteristic differences of the E-Class Coupe lies in the suspension system. Suspension that is 15 mm lower than the sedan version is electronically controlled by direct and dynamic body control systems. With the Comfort, ECO, Sport, Sport + and Individual driving modes offered in the E-Class Coupé, the suspension structure and engine characteristics have changed change.
The 2017 Mercedes E-Class is offered to users with four different model variations. At the start of these options is the E 220d, which features a 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine entirely made of aluminum. This version, which has 194 horsepower (3,800 rpm) and 400 nm torque (1,600-2,800 rpm), can reach a maximum of 242 km / h while reaching from 0 to 100 km in 7.4 seconds. Then, we see that the horsepower in the 2.0-liter engine gamily, E 200 and E 300, is increased to 245 from 194, so did the torque value from 300 to 370.
At the top of the 2017 E-Class Coupe family is the E 400 with four-wheel drive infrastructure. The 3.0-liter TwinTurbo V6 engine features 333 hp (5,250-6,000 rpm) and 480 rpm torque (1,600-4,000 rpm). The 0-100 value is 5.3 seconds and the electronically limited maximum speed is 250 km / s. All engine and model combinations of the 2017 E-Class Coupe family are equipped with nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission. The 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe family will be sold in the summer following the Detroit Auto Show.
