Audi introduced the new Q8!
First details of the upcoming Audi Q8, which will be presented as a concept under the Detroit Auto Show, have begun to show itself.
While we are less than three weeks away from the Detroit Auto Show, one of the first organizations of the year 2017, the brands are slowly starting to show their trumps. Audi, one of the most ambitious entrants to the Detroit Auto Show, will also have the first official image of the Q8 concept in the organization.
March Lichte, the chief engineer of the project, who has not been so secretive about the Q8 project, which will be at the top of Audi’s SUV range, explained to the German news site Welt about the model. Underlining that the model will be sporty as it is in the BMW X6 and the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe, Lichte stated that they are designing a model that could compete with Bentley Bentayga and Porsche Cayenne. “From now on, each model that we will offer to the users will have its own characteristic identity, and I can say this for both exterior and interior design,” Lichte said, adding that the car will be developed on the same platform as the new A8 and Q7.
At the Detroit Auto Show, Lichte refused to give information about the engine options of the Q8, which will face as a concept, and stated that the model will be ready for sale in 2018. In this context, the engines to be used in the new Q8 are expected to have diesel and gasoline variants in Audi’s latest V6 and V8 options. That means 429 and 600 horsepower ratings for the Q8. It should also be noted that the electric E-tron model will be offered after the Q8’s internal combustion engine options.
