Google Waymo is evolving

Waymo, the car that can drive itself produced by the new company of Alphabet, have now traveled 3.5 million kilometers without drivers. Google has come a long way in terms of autonomous tools.

Alphabet, which has invested heavily in autonomous driving technology for many years and now collects all of its work under a Waymark-based company, has released interesting statistics about driverless vehicles. Accordingly, Waymo, the old Google autonomous car, has so far succeed to reach 3.5 million kilometers.

This creates an equal experience for a normal person driving a car for 300 million years in the big city. In other words, Google’s artificial intelligence driver is now as experienced as a chauffeur in a major city for 300 years.

Beware of bicycles

Google, or Alphabet and Waymo, are among the most advanced technologies in autonomous driving. While other autonomous driving technologies have had many problems, Waymo has already overcome these problems.

For example, while Uber’s and even Tesla’s autonomous driving technology has difficulty recognizing bikes at some critical moments, Uber does not even recognize the pedestrian and bicycle.

One of Google’s oldest spots is to test autonomous driving on snowy roads and in cold weather. These challenging driving conditions can create surprises that artificial intelligence can not handle. Waymo is now starting to work on driving tests in snowy and cold weather and working to improve the missing points of technology.
