Google now offers 4K movies

For the first time with Google Chromecast Ultra in November 2016, Google has stepped into the 4K market. The company is taking another important step now and is offering UHD-resolution content on the Play Store. Currently, more than 125 movies are sold in UHD resolution.

Among them are famous productions like Ghostbusters or Captain Philips. Movies can be purchased or rented from the Play Store internet page and from the store’s Android app. Movies purchased, according to Google’s description, can be played seamlessly on Xiaomi Mi Box 3, Chromecast Ultra and on Android-powered Sony Bravia TVs.

UHD content is currently available for sale in the US and Canada only. The prices range from $ 8 to $ 30. It is not yet clear when these contents can be purchased in other countries.
