This is the new Opel Insignia
Opel’s top model in the passenger segment is the Insignia. To tell you the truth, when all the brands of the class made their move for 2017, Opel started to worry us. In the past, Insignia caught in camouflaged camera, but finally the curtain was on the screen and the new face came out. Following Opel’s dismissal of Vectra, Insignia, which was released in 2008, is now considered to be a new generation. Along with the design, the new Insignia’s dimensional figures are also changed and there are serious improvements.
The design of the 2017 Opel Insignia has the inverted L-shaped double-line LED lighting, which was introduced in the Mokka X. Along with the new “Eye” lines, there are also visible changes in the buffer enregration, especially on the Insignia’s front grille. The rear and general lines of the vehicle together with the front end to form a unity by completing this change. The answer to this visible change lies in the numerical parameters. We owe this sharp and variable structure of the Insignia to a decreasing height of 29 mm. Besides, 92 mm increased axle and 11 mm increased width are the technical details of Insiginia’s more sedate look. The most noticeable change in the numbers of the Insignia is the loss of 175 kg. Insignia, which is up to 175 kg lighter than the generation that it took with its infrastructural improvements, has the potential to make the users more happy in terms of consumption values in this direction.
With the increased axle distance, we can say that a larger area and baggage volume will be available within the Insignia. However, when we look inside the Insignia we are faced with a similar console design that is also used in the Astra. Opel is also extremely ambitious that the materials used in the Insignia are being upgraded to a noticeable increase in the luxury level of the vehicle. In addition to the equipment offered in the Astra, Opel ships the Insignia with Head-up Display and premium seats with AGR-certified rear and front heating features. We can say that both the exterior and the interior are totally independent in the old generation of the new Insignia, and that it is now much more satisfying in the design.
Although Opel has not yet officially announced the engine options of the 2017 Insignia , we are looking forward to the next generation of Opel’s new engines . It is worth noting that the new Insignia’s OPC version is the 2.0-liter gasoline unit that produces 247 horsepower, the most powerful engine option expected to date. However, we expect the 1.6 diesel automatic option to be available in the new Insignia as well. The newly developed four-wheel drive system and electric differentials with engine options are among the systems to be supported under the 2017 Insignia. In addition to the Standard, Sport and Comfort modes, the car equips the Drive Mode Control feature, which automatically detects and adjusts the vehicle’s driving sense via sensors. Furthermore, the new Insignia has driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control, 360 degree camera, lane tracking and an active traffic alarm with up to 20 meters of sensing. Opel will bring the 2017 Insignia family to users at the Geneva Motor Show, which will be held in March.
