Qualcomm has a new CPU
Qualcomm’s new CPU seems to be having hard days for AMD and Intel with their competition. The CPU, called the Centriq 2400, is the first server CPU in the world to be built on a 10 nm process. The reason why this CPU will bring the company to a very advantageous position against Intel and AMD is the fact that Qualcomm’s new CPU is working well with Windows and ARM.
Designed for fast performance in data center use, this new processor is built around a special ARMv8 CPU core (Falkor) that can be optimized for server workloads up to 48 cores.
Not only does the processor offer considerable advancements in performance, but it also offers power efficiency, which is a need for data centers.
According to Qualcomm’s statement, Falkor’s design of the Server Base System Architecture (SBSA) feature will enable Centriq 2400-based servers to run on any ARMv8 server platform.
