Dell XPS 13 is now convertible
Dell announced the convertible versions of their well known XPS 13 which was previously noticed, at CES 2017. The XPS 13 2-in-1 laptop can be used in four different modes, including laptop, tablet, stand and tent mode. Dell underlines that this is the smallest 13-inch, 2-in-1 device on the world. This model, which will compete with Microsoft’s Surface Book model, takes precedence over Microsoft’s machine in some areas, according to Dell’s attention.
The Dell XPS 13 convertible is 16 percent smaller, 40 percent thinner, and 20 percent lighter than the Surface Book. For those looking for an ultra-portable, powerful laptop, Dell’s machine will be one of the first choices that comes to mind.
The XPS 13 convertible has two different display options. One of them is the UltraSharp Quad HD + screen with 5.7 million pixels in total, and the other one is the 1920 x 1080 pixel Full HD display. Whichever option you choose, the screen is coated with anti-reflective material and offers a viewing angle of 170 degrees.
Dell also draws attention to its 2-in-1 XPS 13’s battery. Both display variants features the same 46 Watt-hour battery. Quad HD + display model includes Core i7 processor, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD. This model offers up to 7 hours of movie viewing on Netflix. In addition, the Full HD display offers up to 10 hours of movie viewing pleasure with 4 GB RAM and a 128 GB SSD. If you do not have a goal to watch movies and you want to use the XPS 13 mainly for business purposes, the Full HD display model has a working life of around 15 hours. However, 15 hours seems unrealistic considering that the battery life of the regular model was not as much as promised.
Both models have different processors, RAM and storage options. While the processor options are all based on Intel Kaby Lake, 3.2 GHz Core i5 and 3.6 GHz Core i7 are available. RAM can be selected from 4 GB or 8 GB. The storage options are listed as 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB SSD.
Both Full HD and Quad HD models have two USB Type-C ports, Thunderbolt 3 port, microSD card slot, DisplayPort and 3.5 mm headphone jack. Both machines do not have a USB Type-A port. However, Dell also offers the ability to use this port with the adapter.
The Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 laptop also has a fingerprint reader. New computers are expected to be available for sale within the month with sales prices starting at $ 1000.
