Jaguar refreshed the F-Type
Jaguar is one of the first brands to exhibit new models with 2017, with the 2017 F-Type family and two new model choices.
Jaguar, who is looking for the old popularity of the British performance culture, took its place on the podium to attract the attention of new technological developments and new model variations to the F-Type family. Following the make-up in 2012, F-Type, which has achieved relatively successful sales figures compared to previous generations and adopted by users, will be a blend of brand’s latest technology and performance in 2017 as well.
Design / Hardware
If we are talking about a Jaguar model, we always have to open a separate bracket. Jaguar continues to bring its own character to this issue, as it is one of the brands that brings together consumers who have preserved the design character of the past. We can say that Jaguar’s 2017 makeover does not involve a change that we can qualify as revolutionary in the design of the F-Type. The headlamps with LED technology and the front and rear bumpers form the outer side of the small changes made in the F-Type.
The updates Jaguar brings to the F-Type from the outside design include changes that “we think this car is really out of order”. If a car succeeds in influencing you from the outside, the first thing you will do is speed up your steps, open the door and sit in the chair. Here lies one of the most important developments in the 2017 update of the F-Type. The new seats, which weigh 8 kg lighter than the seats used in the previous generation, show a change to the equipment level, along with a leather-covered upholstery – optionally with the purchase of the Siena Tan.
After sitting on the seat of the 2017 F-Type, we again meet Jaguar’s sporty steering wheel, which varies according to the models. There is also 8-inch screen located in the center where the multimedia system is located. Increased resolution and touch feedback for a better user experience, the Touch Pro screen can simultaneously display traffic and weather information. Users can also directly access the smart park assistant application from this screen. Jaguar also introduced the ReRun application, which was jointly developed with GoPro for use on the 2017 F-Type. With GoPro, users can share their driving experiences through this application, as well as gain access to speed, gear, power and momentary information on the engine.
In addition to the standard versions of the F-Type, Jaguar came out with two model variations in addition to the 2017 model year. These include the Super Performance brake callipers, adjustable ride dynamics and 20-inch wheels, all of which will be built exclusively for the year 2017, along with chassis enhancements that will impact the driving dynamics. The 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine has a total power rating of about 400 horsepower. The other version of Jaguar, the R-Dynamic, is powered by a supersurgical V6 engine with two different versions with 355 horsepower and 375 horsepower. The variant, which has the potential to satisfy the user does not bypass auxiliary factors such as driver assistance systems and automatic parking assistant.
Jaguar continues to include six-cylinder engines in the standard versions of the F-Type family, offering users the option of rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive infrastructure. While versions with four-wheel drive infrastructure only offer automatic transmission, those who prefer to use the F-Type manually have to purchase a rear-wheel-drive model. While the eight-cylinder version is available with only four-wheel drive, SVR, the strongest member of the family, offers a power rating of 567 hp.
Starting prices of the standard versions of the 2017 Jaguar F-Type family start at 51,450 sterling. The new R-Dynamic will cost about 55,150 sterlin, while the 400 Sport, which will be produced in limited numbers, will be available for buyers at 70,115 pounds sterling.
