Leica announced the M10
Leica, a German camera maker, embodies the dreams of many photographers by introducing its new digital camera M10 . Much like its analogue M models in design, the Leica M10 distinguishes itself from other models in terms of performance. The machine, which is 20 percent lighter than the M Type 262, sets new standards.
The model, which preserves the basic principles of the Legend M system, incorporates new technologies to meet all the needs of contemporary photography. Developed in the direction of photographers, the Leica M10 is the slimmest M digital camera ever produced. A completely new 24 megapixel full-frame sensor and Maestro II image sensor is preferred for the machine’s body which is covered with magnesium alloy. The ISO sensitivity can be increased up to 50,000 at maximum, and the machine is said to perform very well even in difficult lighting conditions. The camera comes with 2 GB of RAM and offers very fast picture taking. Behind the machine, which has an optical viewfinder with a 30 percent wider field of view, there is a 3 inch fixed screen with 1,036 million dots and Gorilla Glass. Also note that the touchscreen feature is not used on the screen.
Video can not be recorded on the machine with a minimum shutter speed of 8 seconds and a maximum shutter speed of 1/4000 sec. For easier shooting, the ISO wheel is integrated in the top, and the machine does not have auto focus. Users manually perform the netting process. Leica M10, the first M-machine to use Wi-Fi connectivity, can wirelessly transfer images to iOS and Android devices. The Leica M application allows RAW files to be transferred to mobile devices in DNG format. It weighs about 660 grams, including its battery that weighs 210 pounds.
Leica’s new legendary machine will be available for sale at Leica stores today. Apart from the M series lenses, the price of the machine will be $ 6.595 (body only), which will work with the R series lenses by adapters.
