These are the new ThinkPad models
Lenovo has made it a tradition to showcase new models of the ThinkPad series at the beginning of the CES. However, the Chinese manufacturer followed a different path this year, choosing to define their systems through “features they do not have”. All of the new ThinkPad notebook computers in the middle segment of the company come with Windows 10’s Signature Edition. The most important feature of this version is that it does not have a lot of preloaded applications. Although the ThinkPad series is generally simpler than Lenovo’s products for individual users in general, the simplification of the software is a move that will delight professional users as well.
The new models of the ThinkPad series offer a number of innovations in terms of hardware. All of the new models have Intel’s seventh-generation Core processors. In addition, some of the large-screen models (ThinkPad T470, T470p, T570, L470 and L570) can be opted for by Intel’s fastest Optane 3D storage solution. In this new storage technology, only 16 GB is available for users. Therefore, Optane 3D does not maintain its dominant position. However, it seems likely that this solution will help the user in situations where the SSD is not fast enough. While Lenovo uses advanced trackpads in line with Microsoft’s standards in the new ThinkPad series, it also offers protection against bad USB-C cables.
In the Lenovo ThinkPad series, Yoga 370 seems like the model which attracts the most notice. Located between the 200 and 400 series Yoga models, the 2-in-1 format laptop has a 13.3-inch screen with 1080p resolution. ThinkPad Yoga 370, which is durable enough to meet military requirements, weighs 1.45 kilograms. Thunderbolt 3 support is also available on the laptop, which has 10 hours of battery life. The ThinkPad 370 will be available for sale at prices starting at $ 1264.
In the T570 some special performance updates have been made. However, some models still manage to get rid of it. Users on the T570 with a 15.6-inch screen can opt for the non-touch 4K resolution display. The T560 has a 3K resolution display. The T-series has a common standard Thunderbolt 3, while the 12-inch X270 has a USB-C input. The most affordable model, the ThinkPad 13, will be available for sale in January at a price tag of $ 674. The 14-inch T470 will be on the shelf in February with a $ 1099 price tag.
Lenovo offers a special accessory with the Thunderbolt 3 Dock for those who want to increase the number of entries with new models of ThinkPad series. This accessory, which will be available for $ 280, has two DisplayPort inputs, HDMI and VGA inputs, five USB 3.0 inputs, Ethernet, audio and an extra Thunderbolt 3 input. In ThinkPad USB-C Dock, which will be sold for 200 bucks, Thunderbolt 3 input is replaced by USB-C. The HDMI input also comes with two USB 2.0 inputs in the included accessory.
