LG put Alexa & WebOS in a fridge
LG announced its new refrigerator, which can be described as an “unusual product” in its activity under CES 2017. The refrigerator, which is named LG Smart Instaview Refrigerator, houses the webOS operating system that the South Korean company uses on its TVs as well.
The right-hand door of the double-door refrigerator has a 29-inch touchscreen. With this screen, applications that can be loaded into the refrigerator can be accessed, and notes can be left on the screen. Amazon’s digital assistant, Alexa, is also on the forefront as one of LG’s remarkable aspects of the new refrigerator.
Alexa’s presence allows the users of the new refrigerator to give voice commands to the refrigerator. In addition to the existing capabilities, Alexa will also have features developed for the LG Smart Instaview Refrigerator.
For example, the command with the name Instaview can be used with voice commands. With this feature, users can see what is inside the refrigerator without opening the cover. This feature allows you to see which products are consumed most in the refrigerator. Normally, InstaView is accessed when the screen is touched twice, but Alexa makes access available via voice commands. With the help of Alexa, it is possible to add items to the shopping list and order from Amazon.
LG has not given information about the price and release date of the new fridge, which looks quite smart.
