The new Mercedes GT is here
After 50 years behind the AMG partnership, Mercedes came up with a new generation of GT family at the Detroit Auto Show in celebration of this past.
The Mercedes-AMG partnership is behind a 50-year history. This partnership, founded on producing fully performance-focused automobiles, was a model for half a century of jewelery used by the users from the first day to the day. We shared the first signals of the model, which will be presented specifically for the 50th anniversary of this partnership, within the last week of December. With the event held at the Detroit Auto Show, we are witnessing the Mercedes-AMG GT C models, which will be produced in limited numbers to the reality of these signals.
The technical data of the Mercedes-AMG GT C Edition 50 show similarities in the standard versions. The 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine has 550 horsepower and 680 Nm of torque, while the range from 0 to 100 is only 3.6 seconds, and the maximum speed is 317 km / h. These values, which show similarity in mechanical sense, start to differ by a width of about 6 centimeters. The model with a more aggressive design than the standard pre-positioned in the standard models is equipped with support units such as an electronically controlled differential (LSD) to compensate for the accesses infra. Sports suspension (AMG Ride Control) that allows users to feel the driving pleasure of AMG standards brings adaptive infrastructure. The coupe version of the Edition 50 series, which will be produced as 100 units in two different versions, Convertible and Coupé, weighs 1625 kg in total, meaning it is 35 kg lighter than the last model.
Mercedes did not neglect to make up for the other versions of the AMG GT family with the 50th year version. With improvements to the GT and GT S models, we are now confronted with a more powerful and streamlined GT series. First, let’s look at the mechanical modifications. With improvements made on Mercedes’ engine, the standard GT model now has 469 horsepower (13 horsepower stronger) and 630 Nm of torque ( 30 Nm more ). The second member of the family, the GT S, is now ready to release its trail with the 517 horsepower (11 horsepower stronger) and 670 Nm of torque (20 Nm more) with the 2017 update.
The Mercedes-AMG also features an extra hardware package on the GT R, along with the 2017 update, in the new GT family. These include the AMG Chrome Package, which is unique to the exterior design and the AMG Night package, which is a special interior design. Users will be able to access the new steering wheel option with rear axle steering along with the design equipment by purchasing the AMG Dynamic Plus package. The AMG department, which has become the most important part of the history of Mercedes, will continue to present the most important models of automobile history to automobile enthusiasts, with models apart from the race organization.
