Technology World in 2017

Technology World in 2017

It has only been couple of days since we entered to 2017, but even at this point we can estimate of what the digital world will look like in this year. The trends that are expected to rise in 2017 are likely to affect not only business life but also our private lives. Here are the 5 trends expected to rise in in 2017:

1. Artificial intelligence will slowly begin to take control in our lives

In 2016 we talked more about artificial intelligence. We’ve started to see small, but confident steps such as chat robots developed by Facebook and Microsoft, Google’s own assistant, and artificial intelligence in Apple’s Photos app, making face and location estimates. We can say that in 2017, work on artificial intelligence technologies will grow steadily and we will see more in our lives the application as they will affect the lives of both individual and institutional users.

2. Virtual reality will transform into social experience

Virtual reality, or the more abbreviated name VR, was increasingly in our lives in 2016. We have observed that the number of virtual reality based devices such as Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and PlayStation VR as well as VR supported applications increased in such a short period. Later in the year, we began to see signs of applications for virtual reality to open the door to social experimentation. For example, Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg put forward a realistic example of how social experience with virtual reality can be improved. In 2017, we will begin to see signs that virtual reality opens a new door for people to interact more often.

3. Voice controlled devices and interfaces will become widespread

The Echo devices, which came to life with the help of Amazon’s assistant named Alexa, signaled the emergence of a new computing interface. Without looking at any screen, users could only access the information they wanted with voice commands, or perform various tasks within the home or workplace. This means that on the iPhone, Siri’s offerings will be delivered to the user in a different form of equipment, unscreened. Google, then, followed Echo with their new product, Google Home, which hit the market at the end of last year. In 2017, such devices are expected to become more widespread. Apple is also told that this rising trend will not be indifferent and it can offer Siri on a speaker-like device.

4. Work from home will become even more widespread

The recent economic downturn in the world caused companies to look for more ways to cut costs. This situation, like working from home, has recently become increasingly popular. The computers and telephones provided to the employees, as well as the broadband Internet are accessible everywhere, making it unnecessary for employees to spend the whole day at work. In addition, employees who do not leave the house to go to work are contributing to a decrease in traffic intensity and to a reduction in the cost of companies such as meals and expenses. 2017 may be a year in which the concept of home work is increasingly accepted by the companies.

5. We will talk more about driverless cars or autonomous driving systems

Driving a car is good for most people, but driving today is an act of enthusiasm for everyone, as traffic intensity increases, time becomes more valuable, and safety is more important. Companies are also closely following this trend in people, investing more in autonomous driving systems in recent years. We talked a lot about driverless cars in 2016. In 2017 the technical, administrative and economic conditions for such vehicles and systems will be somewhat better. In the meantime, we will see more news about such works in newspaper, news site, blog and similar media. We can see that in 2017, while sitting in the driver’s seat, the number of drivers who look at the incoming e-mails or look at an important business document, yet fail to compromise their security, can be seen to increase even more.
