Tidal lied to all of us

Tidal lied to all of us

Tidal, which was announced back in the 2014, reached to a good point in a short period. Having succeeded in easily getting rid of similarities with high-quality music, Tidal, in fact, took the attention of Jay-Z and he bought the service for a price of $ 56 million. But looking at the newly emerging claim, the mass reached by Tidal is not that big.

According to the Norwegian newspaper, Dagens Næringsliv’s assertion, the actual number of members using the Tidal has been hid from the everywhere, and only the unreal numbers have been shared with the press. For example, in 2015, Jay-Z announced that his music service reached 1 million. However, according to what is said, the number of members of the platform in the period was only 350 thousand. The newspaper, which claims to have the service’s payment records and other documents in its hands, notes that by March 2016,  there were 850 thousand actual members at that time, but we were told that the company have announced 3 million subscribers. At the same time, the CFO and COO of the company are known to have left the company.

As a result, the service has deceived both Jay-Z and the entire technology world with the wrong numbers. When its former executives were sued and Jay-Z bought the company for $ 56 million, it is said that the number of members was under 540 thousand. This means that the wrong information is being used for the sale. Tidal has not yet given an explanation, but it is expected that the issue will soon be met.
