Vine will be closed in January 17

It was announced a while ago that Twitter will shut down the Vine, from which they had high hopes. Service users need to download and archive the videos uploaded by active users before January 17th. The download will be available via Vine’s website, iOS and Android applications. After this date the app will get the name Vine Camera and its functionality will change.

With the new application, users can record 6.5 seconds of continuous videos. These videos can be shared via Twitter or recorded on a smartphone film roll. However, it will not be possible to do other things that can already be done with Vine application with renewed application. It will not be possible to download old videos over the application after the new Camera application has been activated. However, their website will serve as a kind of database where old videos can be viewed. Twitter has already begun to send suggestion messages in the form of “follow on Twitter” for those who do not want to lose the people they follow on the service.
