Pagani revealed the Huayra Roadster
We are finally seeing Pagani’s highly anticipated in a roadster version. “This is the most complex project we have ever had.” When you go to the official site of the Italian supersport automobile manufacturer Pagani, this is the first phrase that comes out for the Huayra Roadster. It was about six years since the Pagani introduced the coupe version of the Huayra. Like everyone else, the Pagani team, who thinks that such a long period is enough for a new model, ended up with developing the Huayra Roadster. You can easily see that Pagani, who is a carbon fiber supplier as well as automobile manufacturer, uses this commodity in this Huayra Roadster abundantly.
Engine & Infrastructure
With the supercars, engine is the subject that comes to our mind in the first place, so we give priority to this division. Like the other version of Pagani models, the Huayra Roadster is also powered by a 6.0-liter engine powered by Mercedes-AMG’s TwinTurbo. This engine with 12 cylinders has a total of 764 horsepower and 1,000 Nm of torque. We also see that the engine development for the Huayra Roadster continues on its transmission gear. The new generation of 7-speed automatic manual transmission, developed by Xtrac, which was established as a separate brand under the brand of Huayra BC, is one of the important roles in passing the maximum power of the Huayra Roadster. Meanwhile, it should be underlined that the Huayra Roadster has a carbon emission value within the Euro 6b standards, despite these developments that have been made in the meantime.
When we look at the technical infrastructure of the Huayra Roadster, we are faced with ancillary equipments that can respond to the performance values. The Pagani team, which has also undergone a major overhaul on suspensions, includes aluminum suspensions, called HiForg, which provide weight gain. These suspension specially developed for the roadster and completely independent of each other have a positive impact of 25 percent on the total weight. Among the features highlighted are the improved body materials used in conjunction with the suspensions, as well as significant improvements in the roadster’s torsion-resistant foot.
The Roadster’s braking system is also assembled from special components so that it can respond to the high speeds achieved. The Roadster, powered by Brembo-developed carbon ceramic discs, features a front-mounted 380×34 mm braking system with six-pistons, and read-mounted breaking system with the same sizes, but the rear one only features four pistons. Moreover, the car uses 20-inches rear tires on the front and on the back.
Design & Body
We see that Pagani has a special component that comes from carbon fiber and titanium to reduce weight of the Roadster model. With a monocoque body and infrastructure called Carbo / Titanium, the Huayra Roadster weighs a total of 1,280 kilograms, which is 6 percent lighter than the coupe version (80 kg). With all these factors, we can see that the point of view about the body parts used in the Huayra Roadster is similar to the Formula 1. The classic Pagani effect is still dominant in the console of the Radster, which is similar to the design of the coupe version. In the model with rear wheel pushing technology, Five driving modes are offered, including Wet, Comfort, Sport, Racing and ESC Off, which disables all the electronic support units.
For the Huayra Roadster, which is announced to be produced in only 100 vehicles units, the price determined by Pagani is $ 2.4 million. There is no doubt that the remaining details of the Huayra Roadster, one of the rare vehicles on the planet, will emerge at the Geneva Auto Show to be held next month, and that Pagani will be one of the stands of interest.
