Samsung Chairman has been arrested

Samsung vice president Lee Jae-yong was arrested on charges of bribery. The first arrest for Lee came at the beginning of the month we passed, but the court rejected the request by prosecutors for lack of evidence. In the process, it was forbidden for him to leave the South Korea.

However, the prosecutors demanded another arrest for Lee towards the end of the month, and offered new evidence to the court. According to South Korea-based news agency Yonhap, the new evidence proved effective in the arrest warrant for Lee. Among the new accusations against Lee is a violation of the law on blacking evidence and transferring assets abroad.

In the statement made by the court, it is stated that new accusations and new evidence gathered in this direction are effective in removing the arrest warrant for Lee. It is stated that Lee Jae-yong may remain in custody until the end of the court process. According to Bloomberg, this process is among the prospects for up to 18 months.

Lee Jae-yong has been charged with bribery after examining South Korea’s former head of state, Park Geun-hye. It is alleged that Samsung’s heir had bribed South Korean President for $ 38 million.
