Galaxy S8 & S8+ are here
The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 + are officially introduced. The devices introduced with the slogan “remove borders” are highlighted with their frameless displays and their powerful hardwares that deliver a performance at a higher level.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 has a screen of 5.8 inches and the Samsung Galaxy S8 + has a screen of 6.2 inches and a resolution of 2960 x 1440 pixels. The front part of the device is completely changed as the lower and upper frames are reduced as much as possible. Curved sides provide a frameless display experience. In the previous models, the fingerprint reader, located at the bottom, finds itself in the back, just to the right of the camera. The screen grows, but the frame is smaller, so there is no problem when it is being used in one hand. Mobile HDR Premium offers rich colors on screen thanks to its technology. The phone has an invisible main screen key, which is located at the bottom. Even though it seems like a virtual button, it provides a vibrating feedback.
Both devices are based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor in major countries. The devices in some countries are using the Exynos 8895 processor. For the device with 4 GB of RAM, two different storage options are offered: 64 and 128 GB. Moreover, the microSD card provides an additional 256 GB of storage space.
Behind the device is a camera with a resolution of 12 megapixels. The dual-pixel technology camera can capture successful photos in low light conditions. With intelligent focus technology, the camera detects faces and automatically focuses on what is important. Thanks to the multi-frame processor, it ( supposedly ) never misses a moment. On the front is a camera with a resolution of 8 megapixels. The phone has an IP68 water resistance and is waterproof for 30 minutes at 1.5 meters.
Apart from the fingerprint and iris scanner, the new devices also feature face recognition. This feature allows the user to easily login to the device. With the Samsung Galaxy S8, the need to enter a password is getting useless. The iris scanner and face scanner allow quick access to the device. However, the requestor may continue to use a fingerprint reader or enter a password.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 has health-oriented improvements. In partnership with Amwell, users in the United States can ask doctors questions.
Samsung’s new virtual assistant Bixby, with advanced features, provides convenience in applications only on the phone. In this way, the habits of using the phone are changing. Responding to the questions asked, Bixby can tell what is happening on the screen and respond accordingly. If more information is needed to perform an operation, the user is presented with options. Bixby, who is integrated into the camera, can also detect items in the circle on this display. So you can see nearby cafes, restaurants and other places. A photographed product is being searched by Bixby and where this product can be bought. As the costumer uses the assistant, Bixby learns more about the user and develops itself using this information.
It is possible to remind Bixby when it arrives at a certain place. For example, the information you need when you go to work is shown to you when you are in full employment. For now, only the assistant available with Samsung’s applications will support the 3rd party application in the future.
AKG’s headphones are included in the Samsung Galaxy S8 box. These earbuds, which are of high sound quality, seem to win the appreciation of their music buffs. Those who want to buy a headset that comes with the phone should pay $ 99.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 will take its place on April 21st. The release date of the Samsung Galaxy S8 + is not yet known. The Samsung Galaxy S8 will be offered for sale at $ 720 and the Samsung Galaxy S8 + $ 840. It is stated that the device which has 5 different color options will be offered in 3 colors as black, orchid grey and gold in Europe.
