Asus made a new 3D camera

Asus has introduced a camera for motion detection applications and for users who want to play games. The developer solution, called Asus Xtion 2, comes with powerful depth detection. Produced in a much more compact size than the previous camera, the camera uses only the USB 3.0 port without extra power.

Let’s say that it’s better to save more energy for developers. The camera, which supports a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels at 30 FPS, gives developers a lot of convenience during the application development process. Offering developers 5 megapixel (2592 x 1944) image resolution for better quality and sharper images, Xtion 2 can be used in education, healthcare, entertainment and playgrounds. Asus’ new camera targets Intel’s RealSense technology. Intel RealSense technology detects the foreground and background of the scene, allowing them to be scanned in three dimensions. Asus’s camera sells for about $ 270 while the market supports Intel RealSense technology for $ 100. Asus’s depth-sensing camera Xtion 2 supports different operating systems. Compatible with operating systems like Windows 8, Linux and Android (on request), as well as Windows 10, the camera is also compatible with OpenNI2.2 to make it easier for developers to develop their applications.
