With the 2017 model year, the fastest of the new Golf family on the road is getting rid of the electronic limit with the performance package.
The new Golf model comes with new redesigned Xenon and full-Led headlamps. After the standard versions, Volkswagen added the 1.0 liter new engine in December, and the most enthusiastic member of the family, the Golf R, went on the road as a representative of the new generation Golf. As Volkswagen has been in the past, they have added additional performance parts to the Golf R, and this year there are sections that add aerodynamics to the look and feel.
Volkswagen started to sell 2017 Golf R 2.0 in two different types of versions: hatchback and station wagon. The model had a 10 more horsepower and 20 more Nm than the standard version, meaning that the car is capable of doing 306 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque in total. In this version, which can reach from 0 to 100 in 4.6 seconds, the multimedia system and the information displays were swept along with performance parameters. With the performance package offered by Volkswagen in addition to this piece, the Golf R is quite ambitious. The package includes High-performance brake discs, Akrapovic titanium exhausts, and an aerodynamic kit that starts from the front bumper and ends in the rear diffuser. Volkswagen also allows the Golf R to reach a speed of 267 kilometers per hour by deactivating the electronically limited speed limit with the development. The system, which will only be offered in Europe, will be available to the Golf R owners.
