Mercedes Benz launched the new facelifted S-Class, which is located at the top of the company’s passenger models, with new technologies and power units in the Shanghai Auto Show.

As a part of the facelift, the front griller is elongated while its LED lights got smaller. Among the changes in the Maybach version of the series, the structure of the brand logo will be striking. In addition to the LED technology lighting, the optional reflector range is developed seriously. The rear bumper and the exhaust system are elaborated with a slightly more sporty look. Mercedes make-up includes the option of seven light alloy wheels. The dimensions of these rims vary between 17 and 20 inches.

The new V8 engine, which is 10 percent more economical than its predecessor, produces 469 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. Biturbo-powered engine with an average consumption of 8.5 liters is among the world’s most economical V8 diesel engines. Of course, this consumption value is achieved in quiet use of the four cylinders. Let’s come to the unit with the title of the most powerful diesel engine of the Mercedes history. This six-cylinder structure has a row of six engines and is offered in two versions, 286 horsepower to 600 Nm of torque and 340 horsepower to 700 Nm of torque. The average consumption value of the S 350 is 5.5 liters and the S 400 is 5.6 liters. This engine developed on the aluminum block uses the patented NANOSLIDE layer that Mercedes has integrated into the cylinder walls.

 

 

As in every series of Mercedes, the S-Class has the AMG signature in the strongest of the family. The S 63 4MATIC + version features a 4.0-liter V-8 Biturbo engine instead of the previous 5.5-liter V-8 Biturbo. Despite this shrank volume, this version has impressive values ​​of 612 horsepower and 900 Nm. In the hybrid version of the family, the electric motor is used with the six-row internal combustion engine. In this version, where the 13.3 kWh battery is located, a range of 50 kilometers is offered in electric mode. The make-up S-Class will be sold in the European market from July.
