Google Home will receive 4 new features
There are four main innovations for Google Home, so the assistant features of the intelligent speaker are becoming more proactive and flexible. Hand-free phone calls are also among these new features.
What’s new in Google I / O 2017 is an important update for a networked speaker that’s only been selling for six months. These innovations came just before the speaker, which is expected to be announced at Apple’s WWDC 2017, which will carry the iPhone’s virtual assistant Siri to a standalone device.
New functions are gathered in four main categories. These are proactive assistants. Instead of asking Google Home to answer and asking for something, the Google Assistant will automatically search for diverse content based on the day’s work.
The loudspeaker is flashing the lights on the top. Later, when you go to the appointment in your calendar, it asks you if there is traffic. If there is an upcoming flight, Google Home can alert you about a last-minute change that is taking place on the hour. Depending on the situation, Home is on the right alert to the right person.
The other feature allows Google Home handset to make free phone calls. Google also offers free phone calls to the US and Canada, allowing Google Home to call any landline or mobile phone. Again, thanks to the voice recognition feature, the smart speaker can figure out who wants to communicate with whom. For example, when “call mother” is called, she understands who is calling and which mother to call. The loudspeaker is dialing over a predetermined secret number. However, when Google Assistant connects the number with Google Assistant, Google Home automatically selects this number and uses this number for Caller ID. Google says that free phone calls for the US and Canada will be available later.
Third innovations focus on entertainment. In addition to Spotify Premium, free ad-supported Spotify is also included in Google Home. SoundCloud and Deezer support are also included. On the TV side, HBO NOW operating in the US is supported. Broadcasting via Bluetooth from smartphone or other devices is also activated.
Finally there are Visual Answers. Google is expanding its functionality using the existing home screen, instead of removing a smart smart speaker like the Amazon Echo Show. It’s possible to use a TV with a Chromecast as if it were a Google Home screen.
It is possible to request that the results be sent to a special device. For example, when Google Home is asked for a place recommendation, Google Maps does not notice that details work on smartphones, iOS, or Android. Or you may be asked to show this on TV. The same feature can be used for calendars. Or Visual Answers are working for video recommendations on YouTube.
