Microsoft Bing has a new bot
Microsoft will place bots prepared by developers into Bing search results. It has been reported that the company has tested the feature for about a month, and so far, they only work in Seattle area. Sources close to Microsoft’s plans said the company will hear about the expansion of bots coverage at the Build conference next week.
Microsoft announced the schedule of its Build conference in the week. One of the sessions on the schedule announced by the company seems to be named “You can add your custom bot to Bing.”
The bots available on Bing.com can be seen in searches for a restaurant named Monsoon in Seattle. A new option is to chat with the restaurant over Skype and get information about things like working hours or parking status. It is anticipated that this opportunity will be offered in more cities in the coming period.
The software giant announced the bot platform at the Build conference last year. With the addition of custom bots on Bing.com, it will move Microsoft’s bot platform beyond Skype. The software giant is expected to share publicly the new details about the Bing bots at the traditional developer conference Build, which will start next week.
