Next-generation gaming laptops will be three times thinner and three times faster than current notebooks, thanks to the Nvidia Max-Q



The name of Max-Q announced at Computex 2017 comes from goals such as maximum efficiency and maximum performance. Nvidia claimed that a sensitivity-oriented design philosophy similar to that used in NASA had been implemented so that device manufacturers would be able to build sleek and powerful gaming laptop computers at an incredible rate.


This can result in today’s rude and heavy gaming laptop computers. Nvidia says that the gaming laptop computers of the Max-Q platform can be offered as thin as 18 millimeters, in other words, the same thickness as the MacBook Air.


It does not end with that, it is said that these laptop computers may be stronger than 70 percent of the current gaming laptop computers. This will be a significant leap.


Nvidia Max-Q optimizes and fine-tunes the Pascal GPU architecture to achieve impressive results. With the application of Pascal’s sensitivity-oriented engineering approach, it is possible that this architecture will be more efficient. Nvidia configures every angle of the Max-Q platform from the design of the laptop to the physical GPU, software drivers and even thermal and electrical components.


This is the case for thin-walled notebook computers; Like the GTX 1080, GTX 1070 and GTX 1060, Nvidia will include some of the most powerful GPUs on the market, with the highest efficiency for gaming power on one side and power efficiency on the other. Nvidia’s Game Ready drivers will also enable GPUs to deliver impressive graphics while delivering optimal value for efficiency.



On the other hand, advanced thermal solutions will enable GPUs to work cool on compact computers. Nvidia’s introduction of the new WhisperMode technology in Computex also makes it possible for these gaming laptops to work in a quieter way when running games. This will be the perfect news for users who are disturbed by the fans who work with graphics on their notebook computers while playing tiresome games. Any game that is hosted on a Pascal-based graphics card will support the WhisperMode . The forthcoming GeForce Experience will be included in the software update.


Starting on June 27th, we will start to see new models on the world market. These will come with Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1080, GTX 1070 and GTX 1060 graphics cards. Acer, Alienware, Asus, Gigabyte, HP, Lenovo, MSI and many other popular computer manufacturers will make those types of laptops starting after the given date. Meanwhile, at Computex 2017, Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang demonstrated a sleek Asus ROG Zephyrus Max-Q gaming computer with a GTX 1080 graphics card. According to Huang, this laptop is 60 percent stronger than the PlayStation 4 Pro.
