Spotify now has QR Codes

Spotify offers a new way to instantly stream music via mobile apps or share songs with friends nearby. This feature, which is called as Spotify Codes, works with the sound wave-like shape of the barcode attached to each track, playlist, under the album.

To use the Codes, open the application, then click the Search button. In the upper right corner, you will see the camera icon next to the search bar. Click on it. Hold the camera over the code, you will quickly jump to the associated song.

Codes are working very fastly. Even if you do not think you can fully place the camera in the code, the code is perceived and the song starts to play immediately. Thanks to the QR-style code, Spotify aims to make song sharing more common.

It is said that the company has not planned to bring this code feature into the desktop application yet. We hope this policy will change because it is also practical to see code on a desktop or laptop computer and read it on the smartphone.
