After months of rumors, Microsoft finally got official for the new game console called Project Scorpio. The official name of this game console was Xbox One X. Microsoft’s Xbox One X-style naming came only days after the company acquired the commercial use rights of a mysterious S logo. In addition, clues to Scorpio have started to be scattered around thanks to the E3 promotional videos. The Microsoft Xbox One X console plans to sell worldwide on November 7th.
All existing Xbox One accessories will also work on the new Xbox One X. In addition, all existing Xbox 360 compatible games and Xbox One games will work in this console. With a method called “super sampling” on One X, Microsoft will make new games appear better on 1080p TVs.
The new console will come out with 6 teraflops of graphics processor power, so the main competitor, the PS4 Pro, will outpace the 4.2 teraflop power. Microsoft is using a customized GPU engine running at 1172 MHz in Scorpio. That goes far beyond the Xbox One 853 MHz unit, and the 911 MHz GPU engine found in Sony’s PS4 Pro.
Microsoft has previously stated that all 900p and 1080p Xbox One games will run at native 4K resolution on Xbox One X, and that existing Xbox One and 360 games will also experience a noticeable performance increase. The back of Microsoft’s new console is based on the Xbox One S, and there is no dedicated port for Kinect with the HDMI input port. In addition, the Scorpio has a steam-cooled cooling system inside. Similar technology is also used in top class PC game cards such as the GTX 1080.
Microsoft says the new Xbox One X is the smallest Xbox game console ever produced. The design is quite similar to the current Xbox One S model. One of the first games to be released for the new console will be Forza Motorsport 7, this game will come out with natural 4K resolution and 60fps support. Below you can watch the video of the special game of this game. The Forza Motorsport 7 game will be released on October 3rd.
